Glorious surroundings for any event, the Churches and grounds of St. Mary’s and Ascension are ideal venues for weddings, baptisms and intimate gatherings. The Church of the Ascension:

 

Located on a hillside overlooking Pegasus Bay and the Estuary, the renovated Church of the Ascension offers a  modern church venue with crisp lines and a Memorial Garden. Its fresh atmosphere and views make any celebration memorable.

Attached Hall:

The adjacent hall has attached kitchen facilities and an external deck with a view out over McCormicks Bay, the estuary and South Brighton.

The Church of St. Mary:

 

Snuggled in Heathcote Valley, this well maintained historic little church is one of Christchurch’s oldest church buildings. Its Victorian charm, warm totara interior and beautiful stained glass make for an unforgettable intimate gathering.

The Village Hall of Heathcote Valley:

 

Located on the same grounds as the Church of St. Mary, this renovated 100-year-old historic landmark is perfect for managing larger groups and receptions. With a complete kitchen and two distinct building sections, this hall is suitable for groups needing space and for catered gatherings. Currently used by guides, Brownies, Pippins, ballet classes, dance classes, wool spinners and neighbourhood meetings.

Lower Section: capacity approx. 120 people, table seating 90

All group meetings and events must be approved by the Vestry of the Anglican Parish of Heathcote-Mt Pleasant. The Parish may, at its discretion, disallow use of the facilities by groups that it determines to be contrary to our mission of supporting God’s positive work in our community.
